Health Care Facility Spotlight
Published by Alberta Health Services (AHS)
AHS operates the Leduc Community Hospital and the Leduc Public Health Centre in the community. These small-city sites have easy access to big-city resources that can enhance your professional practice. As part of the Edmonton Zone, clinical employees can enrich their professional knowledge by taking part in training and simulations, pilot projects, and new initiatives.
Like the hospital, the Leduc Public Health Centre provides comprehensive health services. Health information, immunization, mother and baby programs and education, toddlers, and school immunization programs are provided here with an emphasis on patient-focused care.
Discover a friendly environment where you can get to know your colleagues personally. Celebrate personal and professional milestones together; baby showers, retirement parties, long-service awards, a holiday tea and staff barbecues all combine to build that unique Leduc camaraderie.
The Leduc Community Hospital features a full suite of healthcare services, including a 24/7 emergency department, diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, laboratory, and inpatient units. The surgical department includes three operating theatres, a special care area, sub-acute, and transition units. The facility has a 15-bed emergency department, 30 inpatient beds, 4 special care beds, 22 sub-acute beds, and 14 transition beds. The robust outpatient department can perform various procedures, including, but not limited to endoscopies, cystoscopies, specialist consults, and IV infusions.
Clinical staff at the Leduc Community Hospital have ample opportunity to grow their career. Employees can work to their full scope of practice; practice advanced nursing or healthcare skills, and develop leadership skills. Specific departments offer annual continuing education, with frequent opportunities to enhance their knowledge through regular guest presenters, simulations, and other practices.
